The present invention provides a precursor for production of a lithium transition-metal oxide, which is an anode active material for rechargeable lithium batteries. The method includes a reaction with a lithium-containing compound which comprises at least two transition metals, and 0.1 to 0.7 wt.% of a transition-metal salt containing a sulphate ion (SO 4 ) with respect to the total amount of precursor, to produce the precursor. |
