abstract The invention relates to the purification of daptomycin. More specifically, the invention relates to a simplified and optimized purification process of daptomycin from a fermentation broth by chromatographic procedures enabling high yields, selectivity and purity of the desired end product. The daptomycin is prepared in high purity of at least about 98%, and preferably at least about 96%. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing daptomycin that is scalable for commercial production.
