Method for coating glass, polyethylene or polyester containers by treating with a substantially paraffin-free aqueous formulation comprising (A) at least one wax-like copolymer containing acid groups, said copolymer selected from (A1 ) partially oxidized polyethylene waxes with an acid number in the range of 10 to 100 mg KOH/g, determined according to DIN 53402, (A2) copolymers with a melting flow rate (MFR) in the range of 1 to 50 g/10 min, measured at 160°C and a load of 325 g according to EN ISO 1 133, said copolymers when polymerized containing (a) 60 to 88 wt.-% ethylene, (b) 12 to 40 wt.-% of at least one ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and being at least partially neutralized by alkali metal or amine, (B) optionally at least one non-ionic or anionic surfactant, (C) optionally at least one antifoaming agent, (D) optionally at least one organic amine, (E) optionally at least one organic solvent. |
