Disclosed is a process for producing a modified conjugated diene copolymer comprising a modified product of a copolymer of a conjugated diene compound and an aromatic vinyl compound, wherein the modified conjugated diene copolymer can provide a tire that particularly has an excellent interaction between a rubber component and carbon black and/or silica contained therein, has more improved dispersibility of the filler, and has excellent low-exothermicity, fracture properties, wear resistance and others.nSpecifically disclosed is a process for producing a modified conjugated diene copolymer by reacting a modifying agent with an active terminal of a copolymer produced by using a conjugated diene compound and an aromatic vinyl compound and having the active terminal. In the process, the modifying agent to be used is a compound having (i) a silicon-containing hydrolysable functional group and (ii) a group which can become a protic amino group or a protic amino acid protected by a detachable functional group after the reaction. After the reaction, a step of adding a condensation catalyst is carried out. In the process, the content of the aromatic vinyl compound unit and the structure of a site to which the aromatic vinyl compound is attached are specified. |
