abstract Disclosed is a method for labelling sugar chains, which is a method for labelling sugar chains contained in a biological sample intended to simplify the process of purifying and labelling sugar chains from biological samples, characterized in that it includes (a) a step of capturing sugar chains by a sugar chain capturing substance, which is a substance that specifically captures sugar chains from biological samples, (b) a step of washing the sugar chain capturing substance together with the captured sugar chains, (c) a step of releasing the sugar chains from the sugar chain capturing substance, and (d) a step of labelling the released sugar chains, with steps (a), (b), (c) and (d) being carried out sequentially in the same reaction vessel.
