abstract Disclosed is a particulate combustion catalyst wherein an oxide of at least one metal selected from Ba, Ca, Mg and Sr is loaded on a carrier composed of a Zr oxide, a carrier composed of a Zr-Ce complex oxide or a carrier composed of a complex oxide containing Zr, Ce and at least one metal selected from Nd, La, Fe, Y, Pr, Ba, Ca, Mg, Sn and Sr, in an amount of 0.5-30% by mass of the carrier in terms of metals, and Ag metal or Ag oxide as a catalyst component is further loaded on the carrier. Also disclosed are a particulate filter coated with such a catalyst, and an exhaust gas purifying apparatus comprising a particulate filter coated with such a catalyst.
