Provided are a thermoplastic resin sheet for a solar battery and a solar battery using the thermoplastic resin sheet, wherein the thermoplastic resin sheet, which is inexpensive and has excellent mechanical property, heat resistance, gas barrier property, and opacifying property, is imparted environment resistance such as hydrolysis resistance and weather resistance, high reflectance, which is advantageous for efficiency in solar conversion into electric power, reduction in electric current leakage, and excellent interfacial peeling resistance. The thermoplastic resin sheet comprises a thermoplastic resin layer containing a polyester resin, wherein the thermoplastic resin layer is positioned at the outermost layer, the content of a cycloaliphatic diol component in the thermoplastic resin layer is not less than 0.5 mol% and not more than 10 mol% with respect to the total diol components in the thermoplastic resin layer and/or the sum total of a cycloaliphatic dicarboxylic acid component, an isophthalic acid component and a naphthalenedicarboxylic acid component is not less than 0.5 mol% and not more than 10 mol% with respect to the total dicarboxylic acid components in the thermoplastic resin layer, and the concentration of carboxyl end group is not more than 35 equivalent amount/polyester 106g. |
