abstract Disclosed is a carrier core for electrophotographic developers, which is of a spherical form, while having excellent strength. The true density and/or apparent density of the carrier core for electrophotographic developers can be controlled. A method for producing the carrier core for electrophotographic developers, a carrier, a method for producing the carrier, and an electrophotographic developer using the carrier are also disclosed. The carrier core for electrophotographic developers is characterized by containing 3-100% by number of hollow particles having an iron content of 36-78% by weight. A carrier for electrophotographic developers is obtained by coating the surface of the carrier core with a resin. A method for producing the carrier core, a method for producing the carrier, and an electrophotographic developer using the carrier are also disclosed.
