abstract |
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a battery can by cutting the can wall in the circumferential direction from a bottomed tubular material can of a battery can having an unnecessary part at the opening by means of a cutter thereby cutting off the unnecessary part. Cutting of the can wall is carried out such that the end-of-cutting portion of the section face becomes higher than the start-of-cutting portion. Consequently, recutting of the start-of-cutting portion of the section face by the cutter which made a round can be avoided. Consequently, generation of filamentous chips due to recutting of the section face can be avoided. |
