abstract Disclosed is a high strength cable having an entwined layer (21) that consists of nonmetallic tension members on the inside of an outer coating, where the tension members (41, 42) have coating members (50, 60), copolyphenylene-3,4'-oxydiphenylene terephthalamide fiber bodies (51, 61) placed inside the coating members (50, 60), and fillers (52, 62) that fill the gaps between the fiber bodies. The copolyphenylene-3,4'-oxydiphenylene terephthalamide fiber bodies (51, 61) have a lateral compression stress of 75cN/dtex or above.
