abstract Disclosed is a modified diene rubber which can be produced at lower cost than conventional ones. A rubber composition can have improved low loss tangent and wear resistance by using the modified diene rubber. Also disclosed are a method for producing the modified diene rubber, a rubber composition using the modified diene rubber, and a tire using the rubber composition. The modified diene rubber is characterized by being obtained by oxidizing a diene rubber latex and then adding a polar group-containing hydrazide compound to an end of a molecular chain of the diene rubber. The rubber composition uses such a modified diene rubber, and the tire uses such a rubber composition in any one of the tire components.
