Branched compounds which are each constituted of a core, one or more side chains bonded to the core, and ends, wherein at least one of the side chains is composed of one repeating unit represented by general formula (1) or a repetition of two or more units represented thereby (with the proviso that when the repeating unit is bonded to the core, T attaches to the core, while in the repetition of two or more repeating units, L attaches to T); L is constituted of plural conjugation-forming units which are connected to each other; the conjugation-forming units contain at least one thienylene unit; and at least two of the groups present at the ends of L (which are not bonded to T) are acceptor groups: wherein L is an divalent organic group which may be substituted; and T is a trivalent organic group which may be substituted. |
