abstract A light emitting device (2) for emitting white light, provided with a light emitting element (7) for emitting near-ultraviolet light or visible light, is further equipped with a blue-green light fluorescent body (20) for absorbing the near-ultraviolet light or the visible light and emitting blue-green light, and a red fluorescent body (21) for absorbing the near-ultraviolet light or the visible light and emitting red light in order to emit white light. The light emitting device (2) can thereby be provided, whereby there is little scattering loss of light and two types of fluorescent bodies are used which emit light in a balanced manner through the visible light range.
