Disclosed is a piperidine derivative which has an excellent antagonistic activity on a histamine receptor, and which is therefore useful as an active ingredient for a pharmaceutical composition, particularly an anti-histaminic agent or the like. The piperidine derivative has a potent antagonistic activity on a histamine receptor. Further, when the compound is orally administered to a mouse in an intracerebral receptor binding test, the compound exhibits low penetration into the brain. Therefore, the compound has reduced adverse side effects on the central nerve system including sleepiness, and is therefore preferred. The piperidine derivative is extremely useful as a novel anti-histaminic agent having reduced adverse side effects on the central nerve system including sleepiness. |
