abstract |
The invention relates to a tin catalyst for electrophoretic surface coating compositions which is based on a mononuclear tetra-coordinated tin complex, a cathodic electrophoretic surface coating composition containing the tin catalyst and the use of this for producing multilayer surface coatings. The use of the tin catalysts of the invention enables crater formation to be largely prevented since hydrolysis-stable tin complexes are used. The catalysts display good catalytic activity in aqueous binder dispersions. |
