abstract The invention relates to an active-matrix display device (1) in which an electro-optical substance is housed between two substrates (2, 3). Each of the electrodes of the pixes is controlled by an organic thin-layer transistor (T). First and second layers (5, 6) for aligning the electro-optical substance are placed on the electrodes of the upper and lower substrates. Each transistor includes an organic semi-conducting layer (13) and an organic insulating layer (14) deposited on the organic semi-conducting layer. A gate conductor layer (12) is placed on the insulating layer. Each organic insulating layer includes a cross-linking agent rendering same solvent resistant for the deposition of an alignment layer.
