abstract The invention relates to a nickel complexing compound of the general formula (I), wherein: R1 denotes an anionic carbon ligand, preferably allyl, substituted allyl, methallyl, benzyl, or substituted benzyl; R2-R21, which can be identical or different, denote hydrogen, C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C2-C10-acyloxy, carboxy, C2-C10-carboxyalkyl, carbamido, carbamido-mono-C1-C10-alkyl, carbamido-di-C1-C10-alkyl, hydroxy, halogen, nitro, and cyano, wherein said alkyl- and/or aryl residues can be singly or multiply substituted, preferably one to three times, with hydroxy, halogen, alkoxy, and/or oxo, and wherein each of two adjacent residues R2-R21 can implement a four to eight link cycloaliphatic ring or an annellated aromatic ring or an annellated aromatic ring system, which can be substituted once or multiple times, preferably one to three times, with hydroxy, halogen, alkoxy, and/or oxo, and wherein each of the residues R2 and R7, R16 and R17 can denote a bridging C1-C2-alkylene chain, which can be substituted with oxo; n denotes an integer from 1 to 3; Zn- denotes a non-coordinating complex anion.
