Disclosed is a novel optically active dinickel complex. Also disclosed is a method for producing a novel optically active amine by an asymmetric Mannich reaction using the optically active dinickel complex as a catalyst. Specifically disclosed is a novel optically active dinickel complex represented by the formula (I) or (I') below. Also specifically disclosed is a novel method for producing an optically active amine by an asymmetric Mannich reaction using the optically active dinickel complex as a catalyst.
