Methods and formulations for improving the flowering characteristics of plants, such as rose plants, are disclosed. The formulations include methyl dihydrojasmonate: formula 2. Methods and formulations according to embodiments of the invention may increase the duration that cut flowers last, increase the degree to which buds open to full flower, and increase the turgidity of stems. They may also prolong flower opening on intact flowering plants. |
