titleOfInvention Stereotactic instrument comprising a retrofitted digital motor controller and integration of computer-aided brain atlases
abstract The invention relates to a stereotactic instrument comprising a retrofitted digital motor controller and integration of computer-aided brain atlases in order to position a tool in a computer-controlled, atlas-based, motor-driven manner in the brain. Said inexpensive solution allows the manipulators to be comfortably operated while improving the accuracy and reproducibility of the tool positioning process by using the motor controller. At the same time, advanced software applications such as the integration of digital atlases or the integration into control surfaces of experiments are supported and promoted.
