titleOfInvention | Prevention of recurrence of urethral stricture after a conventional treatment |
abstract | Prevention of recurrence of urethral stricture after a conventional treatment. Composition applicable to the prevention of recurrence of urethral stricture after a conventional treatment, including a pharmaceutically effective amount of halofuginone. Urethral stricture, a common disease, appears secondary to urethritis, urethral infection, urethral inflammation, urethral instrumentation, urethral catheterization, urethral trauma, urethral surgery and all types of urethral lesions. Conventional treatments by internal urethrotomy, urethral dilation or surgical urethroplasty are available and can cure urethral stricture, but with a relatively high rate of recurrence of the stricture. Halofuginone can prevent the recurrence of urethral stricture after a conventional treatment via internal urethrotomy, urethral dilation or surgical urethroplasty. |
