The method according to the invention for microbial production of a certain product and methane comprises the following steps: a) generating a certain product from a certain substrate having a certain organism, the producer, in a bioreactor (2, 10), wherein metabolites, such as low-molecular alcohols, aldehydes and acids, hydrogen, and CO 2 arise from the production of said product, and can have a suppressing effect on the generation of the product, b) generating methane by means of a methanogen, wherein at least one metabolite is broken down when generating the methane, and thereby removed from the bioreactor (2, 10), and the energy thereof is made usable. |
