abstract A method for making an irreversible gel by injecting a solution of surfactant and optionally a salt through a microfluidic device, the microfluidic device comprising one or more channels having a packed bed of microparticles and pores there between. The solution is then passed through the packed bed of microparticles; and the gel is collected eluting from the channel after passing the solution through the bed of microparticles.
