abstract The present invention relates generally to methods for reducing chromosome non-disjunction and aneuploidy during meiosis in mammals by administering to a gamete an effective amount of cdh1, a derivative, variant or homologue thereof, or an agent capable of increasing the expression or production of cdh1. The method may be used for increasing pregnancy rates resulting from assisted reproductive technologies by administering such an agent to the gamete of a female mammal undergoing assisted reproduction.
