Disclosed is a commercially advantageous method for producing a pentafluorosulfanylbenzene compound represented by the formula (3) below, wherein a pentafluorosulfanylbenzene compound represented by the formula (1) below is reacted with one or more substances selected from R1OH, R1COOH, R1HC=CH2, R1X, R1C≡CH (wherein R1 represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group or the like) and the like. Also disclosed is a novel pentafluorosulfanylbenzene compound. (1) (In the formula (1), A represents a halogen atom, -OH, -COOH, -HC=CH2, -CH2X (wherein X represents a leaving group), -BY2 (wherein Y represents a hydroxy group or the like) or the like.) (3) (In the formula (3), Z represents a linking group such as -O-, -OCH2-, -CH2O-, -COO-, -OCO-, -HC=CH- and -C≡C-, and n represents 0 or 1.) |
