titleOfInvention Device and method for calibrating a sensor system
abstract The invention relates to a device and a method for calibrating a sensor system. The invention is based on a device for calibrating a sensor system, having at least one sensor and at least one excitation source, a control device for controlling the sensor system, a calibration medium and a drive which, in a calibration mode for calibrating the sensor system, moves the calibration medium, under the control of the control device, into a beam path of the sensor system, and in an operating mode for checking measured objects, in particular bank notes, moves the calibration medium out of the beam path of the sensor system, in which device the calibration medium has more than one reference in which the drive, under the control of the control device, moves the calibration medium into the beam path of the sensor system in such a way that one of the references covers a sensing region of the sensor system and the sensor system measures the reference lying in the sensing range, in which device, under the control of the control device, the drive moves the calibration medium at least once by a predefined distance or a multiple of the predefined distance, with the result that another of the references covers the sensing range, and the sensor system measures the other reference in the sensor range, and in which device the predefined distance corresponds to an extension of the individual references of the calibration medium, in the direction of which extension the drive moves the calibration medium.
