abstract The invention relates to methods for preparing complexes of emulsifiers and fatty acids, which have a cell killing effect, in particular on tumour cells or other malignant cells. The methods involve mixing an emulsifier with a fatty acid using high shear mixing. The emulsifier may be alpha-lactalbumin and the fatty acid may be oleic acid. The complexes obtained according to the methods may be employed in treatment of a variety of disease characterised by the presence of undesired cells, such as various malignant or pre-malignant diseases and infections, in particular viral infections.
