titleOfInvention Methods for artificially colouring dark skin, using dehydroascorbic acid or one of the monomer or polymer derivatives thereof or one of the isomers of same
abstract The invention relates to a method for artificially colouring dark skin. The invention is characterised in that a composition is applied to the skin, said composition comprising a physiologically acceptable medium containing at least dehydroascorbic acid and/or one of the monomers thereof having formula (I) and/or one of the isomers thereof having formula (I') and/or one of the polymer derivatives thereof. In a particular embodiment of the invention, the dehydroascorbic acid can be formed in situ from ascorbic acid or one of the derivatives or salts thereof by means chemical oxidation and/or enzymatic oxidation. In another particular embodiment of the invention, in order to increase the persistence and/or uniformity of the colour obtained following application to the skin of dehydroascorbic acid or one of the polymers thereof and the self-tanning agent, ascorbic acid or one of the derivatives or salts thereof is added to the composition.
