titleOfInvention | Amperometric sensor |
abstract | An amperometric sensor (10) includes a first electrode (30), a second electrode (32) and a reference electrode (R). The sensor further includes a switch (K1A, K1 B) to selectably electrically connect the first electrode (30) as a working electrode and to electrically connect the second electrode (32) as an auxiliary electrode during a first time interval. During a second time interval, the switch (K1A, K1 B) electrically connects the first electrode (30) as the auxiliary electrode and electrically connects the second electrode (32) as the working electrode. The switching of the two electrodes is repeated continuously as amperometric measurements are performed. Preferably, the sensor includes an ultrasonic transducer (40) proximate the working electrode and the auxiliary electrode to clean the electrodes. |
