abstract Disclosed is an organic EL device containing a chrysene derivative, which has a larger energy gap than anthracenes, in an electron transport layer. By having such a constitution, electrons can be adequately injected into a light-emitting layer of the organic EL device without requiring a high voltage, even when the light-emitting layer has a large energy gap for shortening the wavelength of blue light emission.
