abstract Disclosed is a polyfunctional composition having two or more functions selected from flame retardancy, a detergent property, an antifogging property, an antistain property, an antistatic property, hygroscopicity and the like, which comprises a non-cyclic guanidine compound having a guanidine skeleton and at least one carboxy compound selected from an organic carboxylic acid, and an acid anhydride, a metal salt and an ester thereof. Also disclosed is use of the polyfunctional composition. The polyfunctional composition can take various forms such as an aqueous composition, an aqueous high-viscosity composition, a powdery composition, a resin composition and an emulsion composition depending on the intended use thereof, and can be used for various purposes.
