abstract [PROBLEMS] To provide a sealing material which is excellent in curability and long-term stability and is highly reduced in liquid-crystal contamination. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The sealing material for liquid crystals is characterized by comprising: (a) a hydrazide compound which has an isocyanuric ring skeleton and is represented by the following general formula (1); (b) a hydrazide compound other than the ingredient (a); and (c) at least one curable resin selected from the group consisting of epoxy resins, (meth)acrylated epoxy resins, and partially (meth)acrylated epoxy resins. (1) [In the formula (1), R1 to R3 each independently represents hydrogen or a group represented by the following formula (2) (2) (wherein n is an integer of 1-6), provided that at least one of R1 to R3 represents the group represented by the formula (2).]
