titleOfInvention Catheter holder for filtering medical fluids
abstract The invention concerns a holder for a catheter for filtering medical fluids, which comprises a housing with a compartment for filtering holding a filtering sheet. The fluid is distributed before passing through the filtering sheet. The catheter holder also has a connector for connection of a device for handling medical fluids. There is also a connection chamber where a catheter is retained. The connector, the filter compartment and the catheter connection chamber are in flow communication. The catheter holder includes an actuator which has 'open' and 'closed' positions. The actuator is connected to a compression member, which is in contact with a set screw. When the actuator is moved to the closed position, the compression member deforms the set screw, thereby retaining the catheter. The device is preferably used in epidural or spinal anaesthesia methods.
