A novel sulfonium borate complex which can diminish fluorine ion generation in thermal cationic polymerization and can impart low-temperature rapid curability to an adhesive of the thermal cationic polymerization type. It is represented by a structure of the following formula (1). In the formula (1), R1 is aralkyl and R2 is lower alkyl, provided that when R2 is methyl, then R1 is not benzyl; X is halogeno; and n is an integer of 1-3. |
