titleOfInvention Method for applying visible patterns to human skin
abstract Disclosed is a method for applying visible patterns to human skin. Said method comprises the following steps: (i) a pattern is defined; and (ii) the skin is locally and selectively irradiated with UV light according to the shape of the previously defined pattern such that the pattern becomes visible on the skin as a result of the skin being locally and selectively tanned. The UV light used is emitted by a UV irradiation apparatus that is equipped with at least one UV lamp and a projector or a computer-controlled radiation modulator, by means of which points on the skin that correspond to the pattern can be locally and selectively irradiated to form the tanning pattern on the skin. The invention further relates to a device for carrying out said method.
