abstract The present invention features a compositions and methods for reducing friction at soft tissue interfaces. The compositions and methods bind naturally occurring or synthetic lubricant molecules, hyaluronic acid, lubricin, or other tribonectins to the tissue surface, and reduce normal surface irregularities by cross- linking collagen on the tissue surface. These modifications reduce gliding resistance and facilitate motion of the lubricated surfaces, especially after injury or surgery, and thereby improve the results of treatment. The compositions and methods can also be used to limit adhesion formation in tendons and soft tissues.
