titleOfInvention Branched fatty acid ester of polyhydric alcohol
abstract A cosmetic raw material highly effective in removing a cosmetic makeup preparation which forms a tenacious cosmetic film having excellent long-lasting properties. A branched fatty acid ester of a polyhydric alcohol is provided which has a structure represented by the general formula (1). The branched fatty acid ester of a polyhydric alcohol preferably is propylene glycol di-2-ethylhexanoate, propylene glycol mono-2-ethylhexanoate, 1,3-butylene glycol di-2-ethylhexanoate, or 1,3-butylene glycol mono-2-ethylhexanoate. (In the formula, R1 and R2 each independently represents hydrogen or branched aliphatic C6-16 acyl, provided that at least one of R1 and R2 is branched aliphatic C6-16 acyl; and n and m each independently is an integer of 0-4, provided that m is equal to or smaller than n.)
