abstract |
Methods for coating medical devices ( 12; 22) for implantation within a body vessel include providing a cylindrical container (32), placing a medical device ( 1 2; 22) inside the cylindrical container (32), and applying a polymer in liquid form inside the container (32). The polymer may be applied to a luminal surface and/or to an abluminal surface of the medical device. An apparatus for coating a medical device includes a lumen rotator (30), including rollers (34) for rotating a cylindrical container (32), a source of polymer (36) and an applicator (38) for applying polymer inside the cylindrical container (32). |
