abstract An inflatable balloon cuff 12 associated with a tracheal tube 16 may be adapted to reduce the passage of mucosal secretions into the lungs. A cuff 12 as provided may include a sealing composition 25 that plugs or seals any folds in the inflated cuff that may act as leak paths for mucosal secretions. Further, tracheal tube kits are provided for application and/or removal of the sealing composition.
