abstract |
Integrated, energy efficient process for making detergent range alkylbenzenes, heavies coproduced during the alkylation of benzene with olefin using a solid, acidic catalyst are transalkylated. Spent benzene (136) from regeneration of the solid, acidic catalyst used for alkylation ( 1 12) provides at least 50 percent of the benzene provided for the transalkylation (168). The integrated processes thus reduce the load on the benzene distillation assembly ( 138) used in the alkylbenzene refining system (138, 144, 150). |
