abstract Disclosed is a dye compound for a color toner, which satisfies all of the requirements with regard to the solubility in an organic solvent, color tone and light resistance and, when used in the production of a polymerized toner, does not interfere with the polymerization of the toner. Also disclosed is a yellow toner having both good color tone and excellent light resistance, which is prepared by using the dye compound. Specifically, the dye compound has a structure represented by the formula (1).
