Disclosed is a commercially practical method for obtaining a corresponding alkylated aromatic compound by a single reaction step wherein a ketone and an aromatic compound are directly reacted with each other. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing an alkylated aromatic compound, which is characterized in that an aromatic compound, a ketone and hydrogen are reacted in the presence of a catalyst composition containing a solid acid substance and at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Co, Re, Ni and platinum group metals. |
