abstract |
Disclosed is a granular acetylene black which can be dispersed readily and satisfactorily when added to at least one of a resin and a rubber. Also disclosed is a process for producing the granular acetylene black. Further disclosed is a composition comprising the granular acetylene black. The granular acetylene black has an average aspect ratio of 1.1 or less, an average maximum granule diameter of 0.2 to 1 mm, and an average granular diameter of 0.2 to 0.6 mm. The granular acetylene black can be produced by stirring and granulating a mixture comprising 35 to 50 mass% of an acetylene black raw powder having an amount of iodine adsorbed thereon of 80 to 100 mg/g and an amount of DBP absorbed thereon of 140 to 220 ml/100g and 50 to 65 mass% of water, and subjecting the resulting product to a sorting treatment, a classification treatment or both of them. |
