abstract A first object of the present invention relates to the use of a steric dispersing agent used as an agent for dispersing mineral materials in an aqueous suspension, said agent limiting the presence of aqueous phase divalent ions, and said agent not being a chelating agent. Another object of the present invention relates to aqueous dispersions and suspensions of mineral materials stabilised using the steric dispersing agent. The invention also relates to a method for making a paper sheet from a paper paste, said paste being produced using said aqueous dispersions and suspensions of mineral materials that contain said dispersing agent. The invention further relates to a paper sheet obtained by said method.
