abstract This invention provides a filter for a mask, which has a high level of antimicrobial activity and a high level of antiviral activity and is excellent in dust filtration properties, air permeability, strength and fabricability into masks, and a mask formed using the same. The filter for a mask comprises a laminated sheet comprising a layer formed of a polyolefin fiber sheet on its inner side and a layer formed of a dry-type nonwoven fabric on its both surfaces. The polyolefin fibers contain fine particles of an inorganic antimicrobial agent. The fine particles of the inorganic antimicrobial agent are exposed on the surface of the polyolefinfibers in a proportion of not less than one-hundredth of the volume of the fine particles of the inorganic antimicrobial agent and at one or more sites per 1.0 × 10-2 mm2 of the area of the polyolefin fiber sheet, or in an area of not less than 0.01 μm2 and at one or more sites per 1.0 × 10-2 mm2 of the area of the polyolefin fiber sheet.
