abstract Disclosed is a phosphor which enables to obtain a phosphor layer having high luminance even after irradiation time of an excitation source ends. Specifically disclosed is a phosphor containing a first fluorescent material, which is obtained by adding an activator (activator 1) into the base material composed of a compound represented by the formula (1) below, and a second fluorescent material, which is obtained by adding an activator (activator 2) into the base material composed of a compound represented by the formula (2) below. mM11O⋅nM21O⋅2M31O2 (1) pM12O⋅qM22O⋅2M32O2 (2) In the formulae, M11 and M12 independently represent at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr and Ba; M21 and M22 independently represent at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mg and Zn; M31 and M32 independently represent at least one element selected from the group consisting of Si and Ge; m is not less than 2.5 but not more than 3.5; n is not less than 0.5 but not more than 1.5; p is not less than 0.5 but not more than 1.5; and q is not less than 0.5 but not more than 1.5.
