[PROBLEMS] To provide a process in which a superconducting material of large area with improved properties is efficiently produced through pyrolysis of a metallic organic compound and thermal treatment formation of a superconducting substance. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] There is provided a process for producing a superconducting coating material having undergone epitaxial growth through the steps of (1) coating a support with a solution of organic compound of metal whose oxide forms a superconducting substance and drying the same, (2) preliminary firing for pyrolysis of the organic component of the organic compound of metal and (3) principal firing for conversion to a superconducting substance, characterized in that between the step (1) and step (2), at the time of laser beam irradiation, laser beam irradiation is carried out from the side opposite to the side coated with the solution of organic compound of metal for formation of superconducting substance. |
