abstract The present invention relates to the use of a plant extract, alone or in combination with at least one other active agent, in a cosmetic composition or for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition, as active agent intended to promote increased melanin synthesis in the melanocytes of the epidermis or of the hair bulb. The plant extract is mainly constituted of compounds of protein and peptide nature and is obtained from plants selected from the genera Linum, Zea and Helianthus or the species Glycine max and Brassica napus.
