Novel imidazolidinone derivative, method of producing the same and method of producing optically active amino acid |
abstract |
It is intended to provide a novel optically active imidazolidinone derivative which can be generally used in synthesizing an optically active amino acid and a method whereby this derivative can be conveniently produced. It is also intended to provide a method of conveniently producing an optically active amino acid by using the above-described derivative. These objects can be achieved by producing an optically active amino acid by using a novel optically active imidazolidinone derivative represented by, for example, the general formula (3). According to this method, an optically active imidazolidinone derivative can be obtained from a mixture of imidazolidinone derivative isomers by the preferential crystallization method. Therefore, an optically active amino acid can be conveniently and stereoselectively produced without resorting to any troublesome procedures such as resolution of diastereomer salts, induction from an optically active amino acid or separation of isomers with the use of a silica gel column as required in the existing methods. |
