Deodorant particle |
abstract |
Disclosed is a deodorant particle which is produced by the copolymerization of a monomer component comprising a crosslinkable vinyl monomer and a vinyl monomer having a heteroaromatic ring, and which has a BET specific surface area of 10 m2/g or greater. The deodorant particle may further comprise a metal ion. Also disclosed is a process for producing a deodorant particle, comprising the step of conducting the oil-in-water-type suspension polymerization or precipitation polymerization of a monomer component comprising a crosslinkable vinyl monomer and a vinyl monomer having a heteroaromatic ring by using an organic solvent having an absolute value of the difference in solubility parameter between the monomer component and the organic solvent of 0 to 2.0. The method may further comprise the step of contacting a particle produced by the polymerization with a solvent containing a metal salt dissolved therein to thereby carry a metal ion on the particle. |
